As computing power requirements increase, so does heat. With this heat comes the need to safeguard systems from these destructive temperatures. Novucomp's Thermal Management devices provide this first line of defense. These devices are stand-alone analog ICs that monitor system voltages and temperatures and also provide the capability to automatically control cooling fans to protect today's high-heat small form factor designs. Designers are also looking for ways to reduce power usage in their systems to comply with ever changing regulations on energy consumption. As a starting point, a system must be able to measure power before it can manage it. Novucomp's power/current sensors are exceptionally well-qualified for the task of measuring dynamic power. Offering longer sampling intervals than the industry norm, these sensors excel at collecting and reporting on all the available data. These sensors also include alert outputs to safeguard systems from out of limit and transient events that do not align with polling cycles.
